As we all know, Garth Brooks is an American country pop singer and also a song writer. He is just amazing at mixing the pop and rock and roll element into the country genre and this is what made him famous in the Unites States. He is the only artist in the music history who has released seven albums which earned diamond status in the United States.
RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) certified Garth Brooks as the best- selling solo artist in the history of Unite States with 138 million albums. He is the fastest and one of the best-selling artists in the history of the RIAA by selling more than 160 million records
Garth Brooks kick started his music career in 1985 by singing and playing guitar in Oklahoma clubs and bars. He was fond of rock music and was influenced by the names James Taylor, Townes Van Zandt, and Dan Fogelberg.
He is the one to take the 25 singles to the first position on the country charts. His works made him the winner of many awards like Grammy awards, Academy of country music awards, People’s Choice Awards, 17 American Music Awards, RIAA Award for the best-selling solo albums artist and much more.
Garth Brooks has done many live shows and is still doing. He is known for multiple playing and all his shows broke the record of venue attendance. In 996-1998 Garth did concert tours, where he did 350 shows in almost 100 cities and sold over 5.3 million tickets.
Garth partnered with HBO for a concert event ‘Garth Live from Central Park’ and this HBO event attracted the largest crowd ever to attend this event in New York’s Central Park and this was one of the highest-rated original programs on HBO. This concert was also nominated for six Primetime Emmy Awards.
In 2001 Garth declared his retirement and during his retirement period he sold millions of his albums through a limited distribution deal with Wal-Mart. But his retirement didn’t last long and he made a partial comeback in 2005 by giving few performances and realizing two compilation albums.
Garth then began his comeback tour ‘the Garth Brooks World Tour’ in September 2014 with his wife Trisha Yearwood in Chicago and since then Garth is known for breaking records in every city he has performed by selling almost 1,00,000 tickets per market.
In November 2014, he released his first studio album ‘Man against Machine’ after 13 long years and his album has been certified platinum by RIAA.
Garth Brooks is loved by the people and still performs live at different places and his upcoming live performance is in Richmond, VA from 11-13 November, Greenville from 18-20 November and Honolulu from 8-10 December.
