Miami Marlins History
As one of the youngest teams in the MLB today, there are many who don’t expect much out of the Miami Marlins, or many of the other teams to come from this set of expansion organizations. With many MLB teams having more than 100 years in the league; the Marlins, who were founded in 1993, are extremely young by MLB terms. However, this has not stopped them from having more success than not only their fellow expansion teams but more success than many teams that have been in the league much longer than the Marlins. To date, the Marlins have made numerous playoff appearances, won two different World Series Titles and two different National League Championships as they show the world they are just getting started in terms of MLB success.
Today the Marlins play in the East Division of the National League in the MLB; one of the most notoriously competitive divisions in professional baseball. This puts the team in the same division as wildly successful organizations like the Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Yankees However, that has not stopped the Marlins from finding success. Along the way, the Marlins have also found a number of rivalries; including rivalries with the New York Mets; one of the biggest rivalries in the MLB team. Whether the Marlins are taking on one of these rivals or any other team; you can expect that home Marlins games will always be filled with excited fans and that there will be thousands to cheer on this Florida baseball team to victory.
