Manchester City FC had nearly disastrous campaign this season as they failed miserably to defend English Premier League title. After winning the title in the last minute of the last season Manchester City was expected to show more spirited displays. City had begun the current season with a dismal note as they eliminated from Champions League in the group stage itself. They also failed to chase cruising Manchester United which resulted in unrecoverable points difference between these teams. Unfortunately, they also ended the season badly with a weakest effort to win FA cup and as a result the management sacked the Italian coach Roberto Mancini. Even with the pool of talented players including Sergio Aguero, David Silva, Samir Nasri, Carlos Tevez, Yaya Toure, Pablo Zabaleta etc, Manchester City put up below average performances. Even though the team had poor season, the players like Edin Dzeko, Matija Nastasic and Pablo Zabaleta showed standout performances.Manchester City FC, one of the clubs based in Manchester, has rich history in terms of football. After 1980s the club faced a tough period of decline. Abu Dhabi United Group purchased the club in 2008 and showed their wealth by building a team with heavy priced talented players. As a result Manchester City won FA cup in 2011 and crowned English Premier League title in 2012. After the disappointing current campaign Manchester City management has decided to rope in Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini as a replacement of Roberto Mancini. They are also ready to spend big money in transfer market to purchase good players. Sevilla player Jesus Navas and Malaga player Isco are said to be the primary transfer targets of Manchester City. There are also other players who are under the radar of Manchester City. The optimistic City fans are hoping to see much improved performances of their team in the next season with the right tactics of new coach Manuel Pellegrini.
