Dave Grohl is the driving force behind the Foo Fighters. He was the drummer for the grunge band Nirvana in the early 1990s and did not stray far from that style of music in his solo material. It mixes punk, pop and grunge's heavy guitars to form a lyrically driven music that draws many different types of fans and sells out tickets to Foo Fighters concerts all over the world.
The entire time Dave was playing with Nirvana he was amassing a great catalogue of his own songs. In 1995, after Nirvana's end, Dave Grohl made his way back into the studio and used his song inventory to record a solo album, Pocketwatch, playing all of the instruments and doing all of the singing himself. Dave Grohl then put together a band to play the music live, and the Foo Fighters signed a deal with Capitol Records.
The Foo Fighters' self-titled first album went platinum. Subsequent albums have done just as well with In Your Honor entering the charts at number two in the US and the UK.
Hits like 'I'll Stick Around,' 'My Hero,' 'Times Like These' and 'Friend of a Friend' are examples of the charismatic style and the creativity we have seen from the Foo Fighters over the years.
Dave Grohl has brought the Foo Fighters to the forefront of modern music. He has become the quintessential rock and roll front man in his passionate performances of their 2005 release In Your Honor, a two-disc set with one full of rock songs and one of acoustic melodies. I can't wait to see another Foo Fighters concert, and you shouldn't either. Get your tickets now to experience the Foo Fighters fierce and infectious energy.
