Hamilton- the Musical a much heard about is a story about the life of the American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton who was a migrant from the West Indies and later became the right-hand man of George Washington during the Revolutionary War and also the first Treasure Secretary of the new nation. The story of Hamilton is presented with music that is a blend of jazz, hip-hop, blues, rap and more, lyrics and book written by Lin-Manuel Miranda.

The idea of Hamilton came in the mind of Lin-Manuel Miranda when he was on vacation and started reading Alexander Hamilton written by Ron Chernow, the book was a biography of Alexander Hamilton. After reading few chapters of the book, Miranda liked it so much that he began imagining the life of Hamilton as a musical and he started his research to find out whether any stage musical is made on the life of Hamilton and he found out that a play on Hamilton’s story was done on Broadway in 1917 who had George Arliss playing as Alexander Hamilton.
Hamilton the Musical is directed by Thomas Kail and choreographed by Andy Balnkenbeuhler made its debut Off-Broadway at the Public Theater in February 2015 and all the engagements were sold out. Then the show took place at Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in august 2015. At Broadway, the show received surprising critical reception and it received multimillion-dollar advance in ticket sales.
Hamilton the Musical has also received numerous awards like Grammy Award in 2016 for the best Musical theater album, Pulitzer prize in 2016 for Drama and was also nominated for 16 Tony nominations out of which it won 11 which also included the best musical. Also, the Off-Broadway production received the Drama Desk Award in 2015 for the outstanding musical and also won seven other Drama Desk Awards from the 14 nominated categories.
The previews of Hamilton the Musical took place in Chicago by the production in September 2016 and now it will start the national touring that is scheduled to begin in San Francisco in March 2017 at SHN Orpheum Theatre and it will play for 21 weeks then the production will head to LA where the play will run from August 11 to December 30, 2017, at Hollywood Pantages Teater.
Hamilton the Musical will be opening in the West End also and it is scheduled in October 2017 at Victoria Palace Theater which is currently under renovation.
